Meet megababe Diana Korkunova: a Russian blogger living between Moscow and St. Petersburg. She started off as a modelModel (people), a person in a role to promote, display, or advertise commercial products or to serve as a visual aide for people who are creating works of art., bagging campaigns with the likes of Garnier and House of CB – but now she’s officially Insta famous with a following of 850K. Get to know her laid-back style and why she’s so obsessed with make-up…

Tell us about your style?
Oh, that’s a tricky one… it’s definitely changed a lot over the years. I’d say my style really depends on my mood, how I’m feeling and what I’m up to on that particular day, so it changes often.

What are your fave pieces right now?
I’d have to say my black polo neck jumper, black skinny jeansJeans are trousers typically made from denim or dungaree cloth. Often the term “jeans” refers to a particular style of pants, called “blue jeans,” which were invented by Jacob Davis in 1871[1] and patented by Davis and Levi Strauss on May 20, 1873. Originally designed for cowboys and miners, jeans became popular in the 1950s among teenagers, especially members of the greaser subculture. and oversized jumper.

You look amazing – what’s your skincare routine?
I have super-dry skin, so need to take extra care of it – basically, moisturiser and lip balm are key for me.

What items do you always carry in your make-up bag?
I could literally talk about this for ages – it’s so full! I’d have to say my lip pencil and lip balm are the two things that I’m the most obsessed with.

You’ve got so many followers! How does it feel?
Well it didn’t happen overnight. At the beginning it wasn’t my dream at all to end up being a big, successful blogger, but now I really love it!

What’s your favourite trend this season?
Weirdly, I’m actually really happy that oversized coats are back – I’ve been missing them so much.

Any plans for party season?
Hmm, it’s a funny one this year… I always plan so many parties and sort gifts and everything, that when it finally comes around, I’m so exhausted. I don’t have the time to put in as much effort as I originally wanted to.

What style advice would you give for any NYE parties this year?
I think anything goes, really. You can go classy with something glamorous like a maxi dress – or choose sequins or a cool trouser suit. If you’re hosting the party, I’d recommend doing a themed one. It will make life easier for both you and your guests!

Meet The Waterhouse Sister You Haven’t Heard Of…Yet – Topshop

Her older sisters Suki and Immy have long been making waves in fashion, film and music, but Maddi is the Waterhouse you haven’t heard of yet. A model, photography student and blogger, Maddi may only just be studying for her A-Levels, but she’s wise beyond her years. Using her blog to voice the issues she feels important to her audience of young girls, so far Maddi has written about her best friends battle with anorexia and the unrealistic body standards that Instagram often promotes to girls her age. She’s also a budding photographer, often found taking images of her friends and family to run on her blog. Here, we chat to Maddi herself.

What’s it like being the youngest member of the Waterhouse family?
Even though I’m only three minutes younger than my brother, I’m still treated like I’m so much younger than him. It’s probably because he’s so much taller than I am, and he looks a lot older physically. Being the youngest I definitely get babied the most, but I don’t mind.
We’re big fans of your blog, and your Instragram, what inspires what your writing?
I think it’s just being at a really small all-girls school where you are good friends with everyone, so you get to know people well and find out a lot about them. So many of my friends go through so many hard situations. The first I wrote was about one of my best friends and her battle with anorexia. She was really brave to talk about it and I hope my blog will inspire and help others to do the same. I really enjoy taking the photos to run alongside my writing too as it captures a moment in each persons life-journey.
Have you always been into photography?
I’ve been doing it for a really long time. My sisters have always been into photography and we have a massive collection of film cameras in our house, so we’ve always taken photos of each other on holidayA holiday is a day set aside by custom or by law on which normal activities, especially business or work, are suspended or reduced. Generally, holidays are intended to allow individuals to celebrate or commemorate an event or tradition of cultural or religious significance. Holidays may be designated by governments, religious institutions, or other groups or organizations. The degree to which normal activities are reduced by a holiday may depend on local laws, customs, the type of job being held or even personal choices., or just when we’re hanging out. I really wanted to study it, so now I’m doing my photography A-level.
You write a lot about body positivity, why do you think that’s such an important issue facing young women right now?
In this generation social media is such a big thing and there’s this crazy pressure on young girls these days to look a certain way. You go on Instagram and you see so many images that have been overly-retouched or filtered. So many young girls see these images and are affected by it, because they think that’s the ideal body type and they aspire to that look. I think it’s important to ground yourself, realising that you might not look like these girls – but that’s okay. Growing up with Instagram I wanted to show girls that you should be happy with yourself and your body image – it’s not all about Instagram likes!
So who are your role models?
Lena Dunham, definitely. I love her Women of the Hour podcast and she really inspires me with her writing. I also love Eileen Kelly, the girl behind @killerandasweetthang, she is amazing as she’s so body-positive. Her images are raw and unedited and she’s true to herself and is a strong voice for young women.
So aside from modelling, writing and photography and studying… what else do you like to do?
Well I was obsessed with this series of The Great British Bake Off so I’m doing loads of baking at the moment. I baked a strawberry poke cake the other day!
And what is that exactly?
You start by making a basic sponge, then you poke a few holes in it and add strawberry juice, letting it sink down into holes and flavour the sponge. Then cover it with cream and fresh strawberries – it’s amazing!

Party Season Beauty With Danielle & Nicole Kahlani – Topshop

If the Kahlani twins aren’t currently on your hair and beauty radar – they definitely should be. With Danielle on make-up and Nicole manning all-things hair, this super-cool duo have worked with clients such as Wonderland, i-D, Chanel and Louis Vuitton, as well as countless Topshop shoots. We caught up with the girls backstage on our Be The Party christmas shoot to chat retro hair muses, festive beauty trends and tips and tricks for the party season…

Tell me about inspiration behind this look…
Danielle: I wanted the make-up to reflect the outfit – so went for all-out glitter with a retro edge. Glitter is very cool right now.
Nicole: It’s playful, it’s fun! It’s a little bit ’90s and a little bit ’60s.
And how do we recreate it ourselves?
Danielle: For the metallic eye you need two types of silver glitter – one with a finer grain and one with slightly larger flecks. Take the large glitter and press into the inner and outer corner of the eye, then use the more refined glitter in the centre of the lid and under the lash line. Apply black mascara to the top lashes – leaving the lower ones bare, keep the skin natural and finish the look with a high-shine lip gloss.
Nicole: Using a small round brush, blow dry the ends up and around into a retro flick. Set with a lightweight hairspray.
What’s the best thing about this look?
Danielle: The eyes can be left quite messy. It looks cooler when it’s less polished.
Nicole: It’s a great way of refreshing a one-length bob. By only blowdrying the ends and keeping the rest natural you get a much fresher, loose finish.
And why is it relevant for now?
Danielle: It’s fairly easy to do but still a very strong look.
Nicole: It has a retro-feel, but is also very effortless and chicChic, meaning “stylish” or “smart”, is an element of fashion..

What The Personal Shoppers Are Wearing This Week – Topshop

Want to defy cold days in style? Our Personal Shoppers know how it’s done. Animal print bootsA boot is a type of footwear and a specific type of shoe. Most boots mainly cover the foot and the ankle, while some also cover some part of the lower calf. Some boots extend up the leg, sometimes as far as the knee or even the hip. Most boots have a heel that is clearly distinguishable from the rest of the sole, even if the two are made of one piece. are their most coveted piece this week, whilst timeless wrap dresses and trench coats form the building blocks for effortless winter styling. Get ready to browse (and shop) this week’s top looks…

Thought animal print was difficult to style? Think again! Our snakeskin sock boots go with pretty much anything from kick flare jeans and a ruffled blouse, to a black jacquard wrap dress by Boutique as worn by New York Personal Shopper Ashley. Her extra styling tip? Clash the snakeskin with printed sunglasses.

Looking for a way to introduce leopard print into your wardrobe? Start off light with a pair of leopard boots. The patent toecap gives our Happy Days boots a polished finish and are easily paired with a pair of rolled-up Mom jeans, black tee and some delicate gold jewellery.

Terri from our Oxford Circus flagship makes another strong case for the snakeskin boot. She pairs her Million boots with a pair of tailored trousers and a ruffled pinstripe blouse for an effortless everyday look – topped off with a thin choker necklace and hooped earrings for that extra edge.

This is New York-cool at its best. Paige from SoHo pairs a ribbed off-shoulder midi with a fuzzy coat, combat boots and tie-up choker. Out favourite thing about this look? Wearing a knitted midi dressA dress (also known as a frock or a gown) is a garment consisting of a skirt with an attached bodice (or a matching bodice giving the effect of a one-piece garment). with ankle boots (only exposing a minimal amount of skin) makes bare legs in winter possible.

The four-piece-wardrobe, as demonstrated by Caitlyn in New York, is the best recipe for a classy look (minus the effort). All you need to achieve it are a few classic pieces – simple tailored coats, perfectly-fitted jeans, a couple of knits and elegant shoes – all to be mixed and matched with each other. In this case, Caitlyn opts for a timeless trench, a fine gauge jumper, Jamie jeans and pastel slingback pumps. Easy.
