“I love the quality of life in Milan. People enjoy their lives here and it’s not hard to understand why. It’s beautiful and easy to get around, or to leave the city to go skiing in the Alps, go to the coast or to the lakes.”
The Amsterdam-born and Milan-based digital talent Linda Tol has an Instagram following the size of a small country and a front row seat to the most coveted fashion shows in the world. When she’s not busy being Victoria Beckham’s latest muse, traveling the globe or consulting for brands, she works on launching a label of her own with boyfriend and business partner Renwe Jules.
Though reserved about revealing details of their next big project, we expect it will mirror her own pared-back style, more often than not in shades of beige, brown, gray and indigo blue.
“Jeans and blazers are my signature thing, and what I always end up investing in. I also love neutral colors and oversized silhouettes,” she says about her style.
We meet at her favorite restaurant – Da Giacomo – in Porto Monforte, where she’s munching on spaghetti al pomodoro e basilico and updating us on the dos and don’ts in her adopted hometown.
“It’s such a classic! Their pasta is simple but perfectly done and the service is great. You don’t need anything else.”
FOR A COFFEE BREAK…
“Égalité and its owner Thierry Loy want to take the French boulangerie culture to Milan, and I love the space. I go here for coffee with friends and aperitivo at the end of the day. The bread — baked in traditional French ways — is amazing.”
PINACOTECA DI BRERA
“This classical art museum is located in a beautiful open space and is a place I loved to visit when I first moved to Milan. The courtyard is a great location for taking photos for your Instagram [laughs].”
FOR A NIGHT OUT…
“I don’t party much and really appreciate being in my house, but when I do go out I love Pacifico. The interior is very chic and luxurious, and the vibe is great.”
FOR A PICNIC…
GIARDINI PUBBLICI INDRO MONTANELLI
“This park is smaller and not as popular as Parco Sempione — and my favorite summer hangout spot. Since I’m Dutch, I love to bring take-away food and sit in parks with my friends. It’s not really a part of Italian culture but we’ll do it anyway.”

“I’m really good at horseback riding! It’s the ultimate way to relax for me.”

“A vintage Rolex! I gave one to my boyfriend for his 30th too. It was an exchange!”
WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE AS YOUR LAST MEAL ON EARTH?
“I’m gluten and lactose intolerant, so I would go for a big cheeseburger with French fries.”
The items that keep Linda Tol up to speed? “My notebook, my sunglasses, my perfume, my keys, my lipstick.” While the loves of her life – her boyfriend, family and animals – are most important, our Everyday Icon has a list of necessities that she never leaves home without. “I love to add a touch of color to my lips, and I need my notebook to pen in all my appointments, ideas and inspiration,” she says while emptying her snake-print bucket bag.
Linda Tol’s style is androgynous with a feminine twist, and you’re most likely to see her strut down the Milan streets wearing a blazer and one of her 40 pairs of jeans. When she’s not sporting her signature get-up, she prefers neutral colors – beige, gray, black and brown – matched with color-popping details and accessories.
When taking a break from blazers and jeans, her perfect everyday look is a workwear-inspired sand-colored jumpsuit that she pairs with a snake-skin bag and sculptural earrings.
WHAT ARE YOUR BEST JUMPSUIT STYLING TIPS?
“Layering! You can play with it in so many ways — just use your imagination. Wear it with a T-shirt underneath and a blazer on top for a more sophisticated look, or with a few buttons open and heels for a night out, or with sneakers and eye-catching accessories for a casual day outfit.”
