Smart Casual

Don’t be an outfit repeater though, take inspo from Gigi and invest in something a little different for your next do. Culottes or trousers are the fashion way of doing wedding guest styling. If it’s more of a casual affair, wear with a lightweight t-shirt or jumper and heels. On the other hand, for a more formal event, wear with a lace cami or bralet. Just don’t blame us when you upstage the bride!

Jersey
Jersey is a transitional fabric that helps to keep your wardrobe versatile. Because the sun is out RN, wear an oversized t-shirt dress with trainers for a cute, everyday look. Or, a jersey crop top and shorts combo is a perfect addition to your holiday wardrobe. When the temperatures start to drop, go for a slogan tee and skinny jeans. To get Hailey’s look, invest in some sportswear inspired pieces to nail the 2018 athleisure trend – Just change the t-shirt dress to a sweatshirt dress when autumn hits.

Vintage Denim
Step away from your trusty black skinnies. Why not add some vintageVintage, in winemaking, is the process of picking grapes and creating the finished product (see Harvest (wine)). A vintage wine is one made from grapes that were all, or primarily, grown and harvested in a single specified year. appeal to your denim ‘drobe this summer? Distressed skirts and jeans are particularly popular RN – Especially those with frayed hems. If you’re a jean queen, then why not try a different shape, like a 70s flare or 90s mom jean – Both look fab with a cropped t-shirt. Or alternatively, for the ultimate vintage denim look, wear double denim like Ms Hadid. Go for two different shades of denim to keep the look up to date and wear with a cami bodysuit.

Checks
Checked shirts are the perfect coverup for your transitional wardrobe – A lightweight alternative to a coat, but will still keep you a bit warmer – Wear over a skirt, summer dress, or jeans… Or, another option is to go for a checked shirt dress and wear with bare legs and sandals for a perfect summer daytime look. Your Retinas Will Dilate Upon Seeing These Shocking, Extravagant Wedding Dresses–ZARA

Several months ago, I somehow found myself on an Instagram account called @LebaneseWeddings, which, as you can probably guess, chronicles just that: (the most extravagant) Lebanese weddingA wedding is a ceremony where two people or a couple are united in marriage. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes.. After a stunning, ornate wedding gown characteristic of the work of Zuhair Murad (which it, in fact, was) caught my eye on the explore page, 30 minutes later, I was knee deep in the photos of strangers on the other side of the Atlantic, unable to tear my eyes away from what I was seeing.

Mind you, my own wedding was over a year ago, and I have since been more than elated to put any sort of planning or search for inspiration behind me, yet I still find myself on this account from time to time, simply taking in the beautyBeauty is a characteristic of an animal, idea, object, person or place that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure or satisfaction. how to dress when you’ve got a thing to go to…–missguided

2018 is flying by quicker than you can say “omg, we’re having a heatwave”, and our diaries are jam-packed. Being a sleepy girl with a busy life is hard, amirite? You’re already stressing about what to wear where, and mentally combing the possible guest lists in your head to see if you can afford to outfit-repeat (the curse of tagged photos says absolutely not). In desperate need of some inspiration? Whatever the event, we’ve got you.

The Rainy Wedding
Your heart is saying warm weather, flowers in bloom, birds singing as you sip champagne on the terrace in the sunshine. Unfortunately, the weather report suggests monsoon type rain and electrical storms. A jumpsuit in pastel shades is the perfect nod to the summer, whilst protecting you from flashing your knickers when the howling gales arrive during the weddingA wedding is a ceremony where two people or a couple are united in marriage. during the British summertime, so throw on a cape blazer over your jumpsuit to look like the ultimate It girl, or team with a formal trench to ooze class.

The Sunny Wedding
FINALLY, the sunshine has arrived (we hope) and summer wedding season is officially here. Every one of your besties is getting married within weeks of each other, and your diary is full. With so many invites and limited dolla, co-ords and separates are a great way to get more mileage out of your wardrobe. Mix and match your skirt or culottes with different tops for each event: Team with a silky cami, lace crop, or a body in a matching colour to give the impression of a dress or jumpsuitJumpsuit originally referred to the functional one-piece garments used by parachuters/skydivers, but has come to be used as a common term for any one-piece garment with sleeves and legs.. Nobody will ever know it’s not a whole new outfit!

The Evening Guest
So you’ve been invited to a wedding, but only the evening do – Charming! Take it as a blessing babe, you don’t have to sit through the boring part, and you can just turn up, look hot, and get your drink on. The strict wedding guest attire rules are much more relaxed in the evening, and you can have a bit more fun with your look. It’s probably still advisable to steer clear of white though! Opt for something sexy and elegant, like a maxi or midi dress. Accessorise with a glass of wine and you’re sorted.

The Races
You and your girls have got tickets to ladies day, and you are out to nab the best-dressed prize. Most racecourses have a dress code, so maybe leave the mini skirt and sequins for your night out afterwards. The races are the perfect event to wear something standout and show-stopping. P.s. We feel like we should advise you to wear sensible shoes to avoid sinking into the grass after a few too many proseccos, but we can’t (how could you finish off the perfect outfit with anything but the perfect heel?).

The Prom
There is no night like prom night, and you are ready to say goodbye to school in style. This is your chance to take your glam girl image up a notch, and go for jaw-dropping elegance. A floor-sweeping maxi is always a safe bet, but it doesn’t have to be boring: Add a little sass with a plunging neckline or backless design. Don’t forget, prom dresses don’t have to be long. Dare to bare your pins, and shake it up a bit with a short prom dress. Something heavily embellished or lacy will turn the heads of everybody in the room.

The Graduation event
You’ve done it! Every all-nighter in the library, hungover 9am lecture, and last minute dash to get your coursework in on time was worth it, and you’re finally graduating university. You need an outfit that’s going to look gorgeous under your gown, but then stand out on its own when day turns to night and you’re out celebrating. Neutral coloured fitted midi dresses are always a safe bet, but why not step out of your comfort zone and stand out from the crowd with a floral jumpsuit. Perf.

what not to wear to a wedding–missguided

Yeah, most rules are made to be broken. However, when it comes to weddingA wedding is a ceremony where two people or a couple are united in marriage. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. guest outfitsClothing can be made of textiles, animal skin, or other thin sheets of materials put together. The wearing of clothing is mostly restricted to human beings and is a feature of nearly all human societies. The amount and type of clothing worn depend on body type, social, and geographic considerations. Some clothing can be gender-specific., there is an absolute minefield of etiquette that it’s probably best sticking to. Kind of. Want to know how to style out the biggest wedding fashion taboos without offending the bride (or ruining their wedding photos). Here’s what not to wear to a wedding (and how to wear it anyway):

White
Ok, so this is the most obvious rule. It’s also the one that if you break is most likely to get you side-eyed all day (and possibly asked to leave by the chief bridesmaid). As a wedding guest, it’s definitely best to avoid any all-white dresses, no matter how amazing they make your tan look – You don’t want to be mistaken for the bride after all. However, with so many gorgeous florals available this season, you don’t have to avoid white completely.

denimDenim is a sturdy cotton warp-faced twill textile in which the weft passes under two or more warp threads. This twill weaving produces the familiar diagonal ribbing of the denim that distinguishes it from cotton duck (a linen canvas).
Look, we love our fave pair of skinnies as much as the next girl. However, a wedding probably isn’t the place to rock them (unless you’re just an evening wedding guest at the most informal wedding in the world). Don’t feel like just because you can’t wear jeans that you have to wear a dress though. Tailored trousers or culottes look super smart, and can be perfect for a spring wedding. Just make sure to dress them up with some barely there heels.

Animal Print
So this one falls under the “stop stealing the bride’s thunder” category. Yeah, we know, the day isn’t about you, you’re just a wedding guest, blah blah blah. Fair enough, skin-tight animal print dresses, à la Scary Spice, have the potential to cause a bit of a scene – And are probably best saved for a big night out rather than a wedding. But if the dress is beautifully cut, and in a classy shape, then leopard print can be a welcome change from all the florals.

Black
It’s a wedding, so you definitely don’t want to look like you’re at a funeral. However, black is certainly not a complete no-go as a wedding guest and can look seriously chic if you style it well. Again, floral patterns are a good way to nail this colour – However, if you are dead set on all black, then just pair your outfit with some bright accessories to make the look more daywear appropriate.

Revealing Outfits
You don’t want to feel underdressed as a wedding guest (literally). The aim of wedding guest attire is to look classy and fabulous. This means a deep plunge, backless, mini dress with a thigh split is not appropriate. However, you don’t need to avoid showing some skin. Choose a deep plunge maxi dress or a mini dress with a high neck. This sticks to the age-old rule of legs OR boobs and is probably best for a wedding situation. Plus you’ll still look dead sexy – Bonus.

Now that the dust has settled from the royal wedding we’ve taken it upon ourselves to continue our lusting over gorgeous gowns with a look through the most stunning celeb wedding dresses of all time. PSA: After scrolling through these beauties you’ll be looking to score a fiancé stat. We warned you.

Sofia Vergara
It’s no real surprise that one of the most gorgeous women of all time really killed it on her weddingA wedding is a ceremony where two people or a couple are united in marriage. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. day. We thought it would be a real tough job to outshine Joe Manganiello’s abs but she truly did it in this dress.

Lauren Conrad
From the moment we heard the announcement, we were eagerly waiting for Lauren Conrad’s dreamy dressA dress (also known as a frock or a gown) is a garment consisting of a skirt with an attached bodice (or a matching bodice giving the effect of a one-piece garment). choice and we weren’t disappointed by the Laguna Beach cutie. With two classic gownsA gown, from medieval Latin gunna, is a usually loose outer garment from knee- to full-length worn by men and women in Europe from the early Middle Ages to the 17th century, and continuing today in certain professions; later, gown was applied to any full-length woman’s garment consisting of a bodice and attached skirt. A long, loosely fitted gown called a Banyan was worn by men in the 18th century as an informal coat. that were both so beautiful it’s hard to pick just one, but the Badgley Mischka lace with crystal pearl and glass beading won it for us.

Chrissy Teigen
All round legend (sorry we had to!), Mumma and wifey to John Legend, Chrissy Teigen really knocked it out of the park with full tulle skirt. While we didn’t expect it, this real bridal vibe was perfect on Chrissy, along with the ultimate bridal cleavage – hey we’re not complaining.

Nikki Reed
The Twilight star had already captured our hearts marrying her beau, Ian Somerhalder (they’re serious couple goals) but the dress was everything our lacey, backless dreams were made of. Understated, sophisticated and just oh so pretty!

Solange Knowles
While technically this look was so much more than a dress, there’s no leaving Beyonce’s baby sis off this list. The cape, the plunging neckline, the delicious creamy colour and of course the jumpsuit reveal – it was just the ultimate in cool.

Kate Moss
Kate looked so stunning wearing this relaxed style with gorgeous gold detailing through the bottom of the floaty skirt. Delicately pretty yet still super sexy, we love the 1920’s embroidered cap veil she paired it with.

Kim Kardashian
Which time you may ask? We’ve gotta say the dress that Kim married Kayne in was our fave. There was no way it wasn’t going to be the most extra thing we’d ever seen (THAT VEIL) and let’s face it, with all the dress changes going on the last time around, we’re not really sure what happened!

Kate Middleton
Kate really embraced her princess moment and ran with it. Despite talk that Pippa had stolen the show, we will forever love her classic and classy lace sleeves and beautifully shaped bodice. The crown didn’t hurt either.

Gwen Stefani
While the pink dip-dyed bottom is definitely a more individual look, Gwen is a unique girl and we really rated this non-traditional dress choice when the singer married her No Doubt sweetheart, Gavin Rossdale.

Allison Williams
Channelling Kate Middleton class, the Girls’ stars’ gown was refined but pretty with gorgeous lace sleeves and a full skirt. The backless element really created the ultimate wedding look. Allison embraced her inner bride and we’re so here for it.

Amal Clooney
Amal delivered what off-the-shoulder dreams are made of with this gorgeous lace-layered gown. With ornate and delicate detailing, Amal showed off a flawless figure when she said ‘I do’ to the one and only George Clooney.

Poppy Delevingne
The supermodel and socialite’s dress served up the perfect mix of sequins, floral detailing and the luxe-boho vibe she’s famous for. The happy couple had a second ceremony in Morocco (dreamy!) where she wore a second unique dress with colourful flower detailing a beautifully two-tiered floaty skirt.

Bianca May Jagger
The white blazer, the cleavage, the veiled hat! There are just so many amazing elements coming together with Bianca May Jagger’s wedding look. We adore it! This look oozes sex appeal while still looking so sleek. She was marrying a rock star after all!
